Okay, so Sadee finally started walking. She took her first steps on April 4, 2009. On that day she took about four steps all together and then that was it for about 2 weeks. I think she got a little freaked out and wouldn't even take one step after that. Then finally at the end of April, she would take four steps at a time, and then 8 steps and then we would see her making it all the way around the room without falling! Now she is officially a pro. She just turned 13 months on the 22nd of April so I guess I will say that she officially became a walker at that age which, according to my mom, is the same age that I started walking. Like mother like daughter! When you see her walking, she always has something in her hands so you can tell that she loves the freedom that comes with being able to walk. She used to always try to bring me stuff when she was crawling but could never get it to me and would always get so mad. So, I'm not really going to post any pictures in this one. I kind of just wanted to pinpoint the time that she started walking mainly for my own personal reference. I did post a video on our Facebook if you feel like taking a look!
Kaily's birthday party is this month so I will be posting some pics soon of that! Have a happy Mother's Day in 2009, Moms!

Easter 2009
This Easter we did our traditional lunch at Papasito's and it was a blast. Last Easter I was still in the hospital after just having had Sadee the day before since Easter was in March. Sadee, as you can see, wasn't too fond of the Easter bunny. I have a video of the Easter Bunny guy coming over to our table and since I can't upload the video here on this blog for some reason, you will be able to see it on my MySpace or Facebook blog. After Papasito's, Scott and I headed over to his parents' house to do a late Easter egg hunt since it was yucky from rain in the AM. Anyway, we had a blast and loved spending time with family.

Sadee's One Year Check-Up and Her New Car Seat
Sadee's one year check up went really well. She had four shots and a clean bill of health. I am currently trying to completely be finished with breast feeding which means that I am now only feeding her once a day which is at night time. I plan on having her completely off by the time she is 15 months. I know some people may think that that is a long time for a baby to be breast feeding but to me that just feels right. She's still not quite walking but on April 3rd, she actually took 4 steps all by herself. Since then she's only managed to take a couple on her own because she realized that I quit spotting her and got a little freaked out. Sadee is one cautious baby. But I don't mind that at all. Like I've been telling everyone...she can take her time when it comes to learning how to walk.
Anyway, last night Scott and I bought Sadee her first big girl car seat and Sadee knew that that was her car seat. She didn't want to get out! Enjoy!

Aloha
Well, it finally came. Sadee's first birthday. I would keep telling myself that I had 3 more months, and then it was 2 more months and then only 1 more and before I knew it, the day came. My little baby is 1. On top of that, my emotions have to deal with the fact that Kaily is going to start Kindergarten in the fall. That just about breaks my heart. To me she will always be my little angel and now I find her teaching me stuff.
Anyway, for Sadee's 1st birthday, we did a Hawaiian theme so that she could be the little Hawaiian princess. And oh she was. That little girl was spoiled rotten yesterday! Nana made her the awesome hat that you see her wearing as she's about to dig into her very own birthday cake. She makes those hats for all the little kids' first birthdays. They are definitely something that you keep throughout the years as mementos. Scott and I got into an icing fight and you will see a picture of me looking like Sadee with icing all over my face...thanks, Babe. The party was a blast yesterday and it's all thanks to all of our family and friends who came out to celebrate with us. Happy 1st Birthday to Sadee...sniff sniff...
These are just some of the pictures. You can find all the pics from the birthday party on our MySpace page at www.myspace.com/ashlyandscott

Well, the time is finally coming when Sadee is to turn 1 year old. It brings tears to my eyes everytime I think about it. Today I just looked through all the pictures of her birth and it truly does feel like just yesterday. That little seven pound 14 ounce baby that I held in my arms on day one is now a beautiful blonde hair, blue eyed princess that loves to get into everything. She isn't quite walking yet but is showing much interest when I walk her around the living room while holding her hands. She knows how to say "uh-oh", "no", "Mama" and "Dada". She understands a whole bunch too! Like just last week, I told her to throw something and she did! I hadn't realized that she knew what that meant! She knows what bath means and food and drink and will try to bark everytime she sees our dog Maverick. And a new thing that she just started doing practically yesterday is she is obsessed with socks. Everytime she finds a sock or two lying on the floor, I will catch her concentrating very hard on trying to put it on her foot...even if she is already wearing a sock! If she is unsuccessful, she will then come to me and yell in my face while holding the sock up so I can see it and once I do put the sock on she just giggles and crawls off and goes on about her business. The first time she did this is cracked me up.
Kaily on the other hand deserves a big gold medal for being the best big sister in the world. She is always excited when Sadee is up from a nap and when she comes home from a sleepover at Sissi and Bud's house. When Kaily is gone, Sadee misses her and you can see it in how she reacts when Kaily leaves. It's like she's lost. Kaily is so patient with her and that just makes me feel wonderful. Anyway, next Sunday is Sadee's first birthday party at our house so pics will be up on here sometime following that day! It will take all my will power to not cry when we sing her Happy Birthday for the first time. Sniff Sniff...
So these pictures that I am posting in this blog is actually from just last night. Scott and I were cooking dinner and she had been playing in the toy room for quite some time. While we were sitting down eating we all of a sudden noticed that Sadee was no longer in the toy room when she had just been there a minute before. So we started looking around and I finally found her in the kitchen like this. Apparently she has now learned that there are cabinets and drawers within her reach and you could tell she was proud of herself for finding it. Luckily we don't keep anything dangerous in that one! Enjoy!

Sadee at 11 months old
Today Sadee turned 11 months old so Scott and I took Sadee, Kaily and Peyton to the park since it happened to be a day off for Scott. We met up with my parents and Trisha and Maddi at the new Central Park in Azle. Sadee loved the swing and Kaily and Peyton played all over the playground. Afterwards, we had take-out and Sadee got to dig her little hands into Mommy's angel hair pasta as a little treat. Next month when she turns one, we are going to give her her own little cake to dig into, so I can't wait to see that! Anyway, Happy 11 months to Sadee!
